Question
Hi-I have developed severe disk problems which cause my back to go into spasm. My doctor has prescribed Soma for when that happens, but I am 67, have low blood pressure, but also had a TIA last year and am on aspirin therapy. I also have a leaking aortic valve. I read that Soma should not be given to elderly people. Is there any muscle relaxant that would have less side effects for elderly people? Thank you, Annette

Answer

Hanna Somatic Educatio
Hello, Annette,

I don't recommend muscle relaxants; my practice makes them unnecessary.

Disc problems don't cause back muscles to go into spasm; back muscles in spasm cause disc problems.
