Question
I am a 30 year old lady who has been experiencing a lot of foot pain over the last few years. During the last 4 months i have been suffering with a prickling senation in the heel of my left foot. This senasation radiates up my inner ankle and is very uncomfortable. I am also experiencing a dull ache in the muscle of my upper thigh and knee on the same leg which has made my leg feel heavy and tight. It keeps me awake at night and is often worse when i have stood on my feet for long periods of time. I thought that it might be sciatica but i have no lower back pain or pain in my butock?
I had hoped that time might have sorted it out but it seems to be getting worse!

Answer
Hi Malanie,

That's a very tough question. I would have thought sciatica to, but with no buttock pain or low back pain it's unlikely.

That leaves a few other things, TFL syndrome, which I doubt or myofacsial pain from arch issues. You may find relief by getting some orthotics from your podiatrist or D.C.

God forbid it's deep vein thrombosis, you don't have pain in your calf do you?

If you do, get to the ER, if you don't, have it worked up by an ortho, D.C. or podiatrist, without examing you, it will be impossible to tell.

Hope this helps,
