Question
I have fibromylagia, so muscle pain is not knew to me, however I was hoping you could give me some advice on the crink in my neck!
I woke up one morning having "slept wrong" it has been a week or more now, I have a sore neck and shoulder with some numbness/tingling.
I can not seem to sleep "right" to correct this.  What is your suggestions?  Hot? Cold?  What can I do?
I think it is also being made worse by using the computer, at time it is like my upper arm, shoulder burns.

Answer
Hi Rally,

Usually this type of thing persists because of poor conditioning and bad habits (ie too long at the computer).

I would use some heat 20 minutes per hour as needed, do some mild stretching, make sure the pillow is tucked up into the neck when lying, and change position every 20 minutes (if you're sitting, stand up, take a deep breath, rotate a little, walk around, etc).

If this doesn't clear up in a few days, consult a chiropractic doctor.  The site below can help you find a local doc.

Hope this helps.
