Best approach to regaining neck curve?
9/26 8:51:52

Question
I recently went to a chiropractor for an assessment and the x-rays show that I have barely any curve in my neck. The chiropractor has recommended that I have manual adjustments done 3 times a week for 8 weeks and then 2 times a week for 6 months.  The chiro has not given me any exercises to along with the manual adjustments.  Does this seem right to you?
Thank you
Ashley

Answer
Hello Ashley,

Adjusting definitely does help restore the lordotic curvature of the cervical spine.  You will also want to perform exercise to strengthen the muscle to hold the spine in place and soft tissue work performed on the areas of adhesion/scar tissue/tight muscles which greatly benefit the biomechanics of the spine.  You may want to discuss these things with your doctor.

Have a great day,
Dr. Brendon O'Brien D.C.
