Question
I was in a car accident a few months ago. I was stopped and a pickup truck was going about 60 MPH and he rear ended the suv behind me and they inturn hit me. Right after the accident, my entire left side of my face, neck, and behind my ear swelled up, felt numb and prickly. Immediately  I could not turn my neck, and the I started to get pains shooting down my left arm, and a headache at the base of my skull on the left side. I went tot he DR's and he sent me to therapy for 1 month. Over the next 3 months I had a permanent headache at the bas eof my skull, that woudl sometimes switch sides, the same with the shooting pains in my arms, they also change sides.A MRI did not show anything, 3 months later, 2 months of therapy and still getting the electric, tingling sensations in the back of my neck, where it meets my back, pains down my are, tingling and numbness  by arm, shoulder, face on left side. The paramedics thought that the seatbelt was part of th e reason for the immediate swelling. The electric feeling, feels like I have a tenz (spelling?) machine, like they used in therapy, permanently attached to my neck, left shoulder, and where my neck meets my back. Any idea what it could be?

Answer
Dee,

I have a great idea of what it could be, and I have helped many people with similar problems but I would have to examine first to verify that.  I cannot tell you what is wrong for certain without an examination, otherwise I would be guessing.  You would not want me to guess with something as important as your health would you?
