Hip pain after giving birth

Question
Hello,

A year after having my daughter I was on the computer for almost 8 hours straight. My back usually gets achy after I sit anywhere for long hours and I felt the need to crack my lower back/hip. (I crack almost part of me that I can, not all the time, but if its stiff I'll do it.# It kept bothering me but then I just stopped paying attention to it. Then when I was sitting in the car that same week I notice my lower back started hurting on the left side. This is the first I can remember of my back hurting me like this. It was first just if it was a long drive, then it got to 5 mins or more and I was in pain. The pain is always like a 5-7 on scale, like its not like I need to stop what im doing. Its just really annoying more than anything. So after 3 months of feeling this I couldnt take not being able to sit and I had just automatically started sitting in weird positions that took pressure off the left side. So I went to a chiropractor who said I had a locked hip. That it wasnt my back, but my hip. After I had given birth to my 2 child my hip didnt heal correctly and was inflamed. He leaned me from side to side and I couldnt bend correctly on the left side, I only got half way down, compared to the right side where I was completely flexible. So he had me come in twice a week for an adjustment and one of those visits I also had #im not sure of what its called# but therapy with electric pulses. After about 3 weeks I was pain free for two weeks. Then I started going once a week or twice a month, under his orders. Now the pain is back but feels different. Im paying all of this out of pocket and when I had gone in he had given me a timeline of when I would be better and he said 3-4 weeks max. Its been 4 months and HUNDREDS of dollars im paying for. I want to be pain free but cant afford this! I am doing exercises at home that he recommended, like laying down pulling my legs up, another where I put my arms on my thighs #standing# and kinda squat, and the last where I sit in a chair and lean forward and back. and LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of ice. But I dont pain free days. Im only 24 and this sucks! :# Has the locked hip turned into something else, are there other exercises I can try? Will I be able to live how want, pain free one day? (NOTE: Ice helps with the pain for a few hours and do the exercises.)

Answer
First of all is he releasing your psoas muscle??? its a muscle in the front and can only be released from the front near your stomach just above your hip /pelvis. If not, he needs to check that muscle (very important).
There is no way he can exactly predict when you will recover. There are so many factors involved with healing: Peoples ability to heal is different from person to person. Maybe your job or something your doing (lifting and carrying the baby)on a daily basis is aggravating it?
just like contractors, dentists and lawyers, sometimes you get a bad Chiropractor. If he has not yet released your psoas you may need to move on to a new chiropractor or ask him why he hasn't checked that muscle. It attaches to the spinal bones and the pelvis.
you need to understand this problem is not 4 months old, it is a long standing problem that you ignored for many years and now you are feeling the symptoms to be intolerable. This problem is chronic and will never go away in 3-4 weeks because of that reason.
YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS, DON'T BE FRUSTRATED.
