Question
Hello, Can you please help me understand my MRI in terms that I can understand? It reads,  Sagittal T1W and T2W sequences of lumbar spine and axial T2W sequence through intervertebral disk spaces were obtained on a 0.3 Tesla unit. Thank you for your time.

There is normal lumbar alignment and no compression fracture is present. There is normal marrow signal. Intervertebral disc spaces are well preserved. there are small Schmorl's node at the superior L3 endplate and mild facet joint hypertrophy at L3/4. Lumbar spinal canal is normal in caliber and no disc herniation or other significant extramural defect is demonstrated. Neural foramina are widely patent. Conus is normal in size and position.

Answer
HI Dennis,

Your MRI is essentially normal aside from this statement.

Schmorl's node at the superior L3 endplate and mild facet joint hypertrophy at L3/4.

These are clinically insignificant and pose no problems, Google them on line for in depth explanations.

I wish I had an MRI that Good!
