Question
Do you know of any possible complications if I have oral surgery for the removal of a large molar at about the same time I begin a course of injections to improve the lubrication of my knee joints damaged by osteoarthritis.  I have heard that knee replacement surgery and dental work should not be done at nearly the same time.  I am 65.

Answer
Mary,

It should be fine to have both done at the same time. It is correct that dental work and knee replacements do not go together. But this is not knee replacement surgery. If the injections do there job and ease the pain then you body will not be in as much trauma and you should handle the dental surgery better.
