Since 2003 it has been our mission at The Healthy Back Institute to teach people how to treat low back pain without having unnecessary surgery. In fact it is one of our goals to cancel 100,000 surgeries.

In order to treat lower back pain, you must first understand what causes the pain in the first place. Tight muscles, sedentary lifestyles, poor posture and inflammation are a few of the main causes of low back pain. For most people, it is a combination of all these things that is responsible for the pain they are feeling. There are some exceptions like genetic disorders and trauma.

One of the most effective ways to treat low back pain is called Muscle Balance Therapy. Muscle Balance Therapy involves indentifying tight muscles in the body that are pulling the rest of the body out of natural alignment.
